A very interesting specimen of a “bullet in wood”. This is a typically small piece of wood. This item measures approximately 2” long and about 1.5” thick where the bullet is located.
The bullet is completely visible in profile with its single groove visible.
Sold by the Horse Soldier many years ago and it has just come back to us in a collection recently acquired.
A rare Confederate bullet that was shot into a tree on Culp’s Hill. [jet] [ph:L]
