View was done by an unknown photographer and shows the monument to the Vermont State monument on Hancock Ave.
The view is taken looking north up Hancock Ave with the Vermont State monument in the right foreground with the various other monuments on the avenue visible in the background.
Contrast and clarity are good as is the mount and paper. Mount has a very nice period ink handwritten caption that reads “VIEW OF VERMONT MONUMENT AND “BLOODY ANGLE” GETTYSBURG BATTLEFIELD.”
The reverse is blank.
The monument was erected in 1889. [ad] [PH:L]
