Crudely made North Carolina state seal coat button with a nice chocolate patina throughout.
Face is in good condition with no dents or gilt, while the reverse is missing the shank.
Back also has a raised mark in a depressed channel but the name of the maker is too worn to read.
Button was recovered in the Oak Ridge area of Gettysburg. [ad] [ph:L]
