These three volumes are from the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies in the War of the Rebellion. They are Series I, Volume 27, Parts I, II, & III and contain all the official reports from the Gettysburg Campaign for both the Federal and Confederate forces.
These volumes were printed in 1889 and have been rebound in black cloth with title and other information in gold on the spine.
Dean S. Thomas was known as a onetime Gettysburg Battlefield Guide and early relic hunter as well as the founder, owner, and operator of Thomas Publications. He was also the author of many books related to Civil War ammunition and projectiles. [jet] [ph:L]
