The view is looking south by southeast toward the large boulders that protected the sharpshooter position in Devil’s Den made famous by Alexander Gardner in his series of views of the battlefield.
Contrast and clarity are very good. Paper is also in nice condition.
Reverse has a list of titles for other images. Card was published by the Oriental Photograph Company which was located in Spangler’s building on Baltimore St. in Gettysburg. [ad] [PH:L]
