Image is mounted on a plain unmarked yellow card and is a view of the Soldier’s Orphan Home on the Baltimore Pike on the edge of Gettysburg.
The camera is set up in a field across the Baltimore Pike from the orphan’s home and looking west toward the buildings. Just discernable in the middle foreground is a low stonewall bordering the east side of the Pike with the picket fence on the west side clearly visible.
Contrast and clarity are very good. Paper is also good.
Reverse has a list of titles for other images. Card was published by the Oriental Photograph Company which was located in Spangler’s building on Baltimore St. in Gettysburg. [ad] [PH:L]
