Clear image of the naturally protected area among the large boulders on top of Devil’s Den that was used by Confederate sharpshooters. The image shows the well-known outcropping of rocks with smaller rocks piled between them for protection
Mounted on a salmon colored card which shows some staining along the left edge. Photos also show some minor soiling, which does not greatly detract. Overall in nice condition.
Reverse has an attached paper label that reads “TYSON’S STEREOSCOPIC VIEWS / NO. 541. / BATTLEFIELD OF GETTYSBURG – Natural Fortifications in rear of “Devil’s Den,” near Round Top. Occupied by Rebel sharpshooters. Along the bottom of the label is “PUBLISHED BY C.J. TYSON-Exelsior Galleries, Gettysburg, Pa.” [ld][ph:L]
