Offered here is a relic of the Battle of Gettysburg. This is an oval U.S. waist belt plate.

This piece is in “farm field, relic” condition and was recovered long ago by a local relic hunter. The brass face clearly features the central “US” and has a brown patina under light dirt. Significant edge loss.

The lead fill in the back shows matching loss around the edge. All three belt hooks remain. This type of damage is typical of items recovered from cultivated farm fields where plows and fertilizers are used.

Recovered near White Church at the 1st Corps field hospital site.  [jet] [PH:L]
