Stereoview on yellow mount by Mumper & Co., Gettysburg, Pa., “Battlefield Photographers”. Misidentified as dead soldiers on Culp’s Hill, in period ink on reverse. Error corrected by William Frassanito in his book, Gettysburg: A Journey in Time. These are actually Confederate dead gathered for burial at the southwestern edge of the Rose Woods, taken on July 5, 1863.
Overall very good condition. Minor bumps at corners, some light soiling throughout. [ld][ph:L]
