Gettysburg High Water Mark wood cigar box. High Water Mark cigars were manufactured by George Stock who opened a cigar store on Baltimore St in 1873. A number of unused inner cigar box labels surfaced from an estate about 5 years ago but the original wood boxes are extremely rare. The lid is printed High Water Mark and remnants of the High Water Mark outer side label are present along with remnants of High Water Mark labels along the box edges. Front of box is printed Perfectos. The inner label is present. The box measures 9” across x 5.5” deep x 2.75” high. The lid has detached from the box and the outer surface has darkened with stains. The tax revenue stamp is stamped 1926 in red ink. Included with the box are new old stock cigar bands, one inner label and 10 strips of labels that went along the edges of the box. [DM][ph:L]
