Excellent guide to uniforms of the Army of Northern Virginia in the Gettysburg Campaign. A history of the uniforms used by the Confederate Army during the Gettysburg Campaign, June through July 1863. The volume provides a description of the uniforms worn by officers and enlistedmen in all branches of the army. The volume contains extensive notes, a bibliography, Glossary and index.
Michael J. Winey (1941 – 2012) worked as a museum curator, first at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY. He then went on to work at the William Penn Museum in Harrisburg before moving on to serve as the Curator of Artifacts and Photographs at the U. S. Army Military History Institute, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He published a similar volume "Union Army Uniforms at Gettysburg" in 1998. Winey was an avid historian his entire life and had a Masters Degree in History Museum Training from Cooperstown Graduate Programs, Cooperstown, New York. [ld][ph:L]
