Stack of ten round balls that were recovered from the Gettysburg Battlefield are mounted on a metal disk and painted black to look like cannon balls. Raised lettering reading, “GETTYSBURG” faintly visible on circumference of the base. Paper label on underside reads, "GETTYSBURG PAPER WEIGHT / MADE WITH BULLETS FROM THE BATTLEFIELD". We sold a similar piece in the recent past which had a handwritten inscription on the label with the date "JULY 5, 1928".
Measures 2" in diameter by 2" high. Areas of paint loss throughout. Label in good condition. [ld][ph:L]
