This booklet was prepared by the Pennsylvania State Commission for the 1938 reunion of veterans in Gettysburg. The forward reads, “That this nation shall forever endure under the guidance of a lasting peace….that the fellowship and brotherhood of man shall be imperishably instilled in all generations….that the spirit of Christian tolerance shall never wane….this booklet is hereto dedicated.”
Following this are photographs and letters from President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Pennsylvania Governor John S. Rice. Booklet has pictures of state and federal commissioners involved in the reunion. A program for the reunion is also included. On July 3rd 1938, we see the dedication of the Eternal Peace Light Memorial by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the docket.
Text contains 44 pages. Program measures 9 ¼” x 12”. Good condition with minor wear to cover. Light age yellowing around border of back cover. Interior pages all present and clean. [ld][ph:L]
