This is just the barrel from a percussion, six-shot, double-action bar hammer “pepperbox-style” pistol produced by William Walker Marston of New York in the 1850s.

This barrel features six .31 caliber bores around a central hole where it would have been mounted on the cylinder pin. This fluted barrel is approximately 4” long with percussion nipples mounted on the end.

One of the barrel facets shows “CAST STEEL   WARRANTED” another facet has “SPRAGUE & MARSTON  NEW YORK”.

Condition suggests this is an early pick-up as there is some rust pitting in places, but not so much to call it a “dug relic”. This was reportedly found near Gettysburg.   [jet][ph:L]
