Here we have a very patriotic red, white, and blue ribbon with gold embossed lettering and a Union eagle naval anchor. It reads: “The Army and Navy / Forever / Gettysburg, / Sep’t 11-12, 1889. The maker’s mark is along the bottom edge: “Union Soldiers Co., Phila.” The ribbon measures 6 ¾ by 2 ½ inches.
This ribbon is in very good condition. No top pin bar or fastener is present. The colors of the silk are strong. The top right-hand corner seems to have been trimmed on a slight angle, but this does not detract from the overall appeal of the ribbon. [cla][ph:L]
