This US shoulder belt plate was affixed to the front of the shoulder belt for the infantry cartridge box. It features the spread-winged eagle design. Brass face is smooth and retains fine detail. Even dark patina overall. Near complete (a few small chips on edge) lead fill on reverse with both iron loops. Lightly stamped into the lead on the back is the maker’s mark, “E. GAYLORD”.

In very good “dug” condition. Recovered at Gettysburg by local relic hunter Al Flickinger.   [jet][ph:L]
