A collection of 15 original albumen photographs mounted recto and verso on heavy gray pasteboard leaves, documenting the annual Masonic Fishing Club camping excursion, July 30th – August 10th, 1903, though an attached newspaper article has a handwritten date of August 1901.

Photos include various scenes of a large brick building, men gathered in various outdoor scenes – in small boats (which  includes a few women), standing and kneeling with US flag at a Mason Dixon line marker, and views of tents next to one of the creeks. All are overall in very good condition.

The newspaper article makes note of attendees at the camp, including several notable names:

1. Judge Samuel McCurdy Swope  (1850-1931), Attorney at Law, Judge of Fulton and Adam's Counties

2. Joseph McKenna, Associate Justice, US Supreme Court  (1843-1926)

3. Lewis Eugene Beitler of Harrisburg, most notable for his role as the secretary of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg Commission, which planned the historic 1913 reunion.   (1863-1920)

4.  Dr. John W. C. O’Neal, (1821–1913) was a prominent physician and civilian in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, best known for his medical service during the Battle of Gettysburg

5.  Dr. Walter H. O’Neal (1849-1929); son of Dr. and Mrs. J.W.C. O'Neal. Became a prominent physician in Gettysburg and served in leadership roles (including the Water Company and local bank)

6. Daniel A. Kelly (1844-1932). 18 years old in 1863 and a witness to the Battle of Gettysburg.  Brother of Johnston Hasting Skelly, who was mortally wounded at Winchester, Virginia, on June 26, 1863. This brother was engaged to Jennie Wade, only woman killed during the battle of Gettysburg, and each died without knowledge of the other's death.

The remaining names are certainly worth of research.   [ss/ld] [ph:L]
