Gettysburg souvenir Mauchline ware stamp box. A detailed transfer on the top reads “High Water Mark of the Rebellion, Gettysburg, PA.” Mauchline ware souvenirs were made in Scotland from the 19th through the early 20th century. Sycamore wood was used which when varnished created a warm honey colored look. The stamp box dates from the early 1900s. Measures 2” wide x 1 ¾” deep x 1” high. Ornately engraved brass hinge on back. In very good condition. [DM][ph:L]
