The 1927 illuminated Gettysburg Address print is a highly decorative and historic broadside. Originally crafted as an illuminated manuscript by artists Antonio and Giuseppe Mungo in 1926, it was presented to President Calvin Coolidge on February 12, 1927. The Society of Fine Arts in New York later began publishing and distributing these vibrant color lithograph reproductions.

The print draws inspiration from ancient, ornate "illuminated manuscripts" (hand-decorated texts featuring gold and brilliant colors). The text of the Gettysburg Address sits in the center in a calligraphic font, surrounded by rich Civil War symbolism. The border includes historical portraits of Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Robert E. Lee. It also features vignettes of the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, and the Soldiers' National Monument at Gettysburg.

This 1927 lithograph on high-quality paper, featuring rich, embossed color and gold metallic ink. The print measures approximately 11" x 14". Framed in a thin wood frame painted black with back sealed in paper. Clean and colorful.  [jet][ph:L]
