This double image features the iconic monument to the famed 5th New Hampshire Infantry at Gettysburg. The photo is mounted to a yellow card with William Tipton commercial text on either side and the inventory tag is transferred from the original negative at low left.  The reverse is blank with a few spots of very minor wear.  Overall condition is very good with minimal wear.  Dimensions are 4” x 7”.

William Tipton was a highly prominent American photographer best known for his extensive documentation of the Gettysburg Battlefield and the aftermath of the Civil War. Born and raised in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, he became one of the country's most celebrated landscape and portrait photographers, capturing the physical transformation of the battlefield as it transitioned into a national memorial site
