This image, fitting the style and typical negative label of a popular Tipton series, was published in the hand-colored format shown by J. P. Carnell of Burlington, West Virginia. Depicted is the east entrance to the Gettysburg Soldiers National Cemetery, with hues of green, yellow, and blue water-based accenting.

The image is mounted to an off-white card and condition is very good overall, with only a slight edge dent on the left side.  Reverse is blank with very minor surface smudging.  Dimensions are 4.2” x 6.9”.

A rare take on an iconic photograph in stereo.  An essential post-battle artifact for the Gettysburg or Civil War image collector.  [cm][ph:L]
