This iconic and sought-after image is mounted to a Mumper and Company stereo card with accompanying commercial text. A crease is noted at center, dividing the dual image vertically and evenly. Light edge wear and surface smudging are observed. The reverse is blank, save for a penned label reading “View from Little R. Top.” Dimensions are 3.5” x 7”.
Mumper & Co. was a prominent late 19th- and early 20th-century photography studio in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, run by Civil War veteran Levi Mumper and his sons. The studio operated out of locations on Middle Street and later 25 Baltimore Street, capturing iconic images of battlefield monuments, reenactments, local landmarks, and tourists as souvenirs.
