This striking photo features the occupants of a horse-drawn buggy, paused near the 140^th and 144^th New York Infantry Monuments on the southern edge of Little Round Top’s summit. The image is in excellent condition, with only mild surface dirt. The mounting card is dark gray, with minor corner wear and edge wear is localized areas as shown. The reverse is blank, save for a Mumper stamp reading, “L. MUMPER / Photographer / 7 STRATTON ST. / GETTYSBURG - - PA”. Around 1898, Levi Mumper phased out of his primary commercial studio at 25 Baltimore Street, passing operations to his son Jacob. Levi then utilized the Stratton Street location for his remaining photographic work. Dimensions are 8” x 10”.

Mumper & Co. was a prominent 19th-century photography studio in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, founded by Civil War veteran and historic battlefield photographer Levi Mumper. The studio operated under variations of the name from the late 1860s until 1909, capturing iconic portraiture, tourist souvenirs, and landscapes of the Gettysburg National Military Park.
