A piece of wood measuring 5.5” long x 1.75” wide at the thickest point.  Exposed in the center is the base of a three-groove Minie ball. This chunk of wood remains solid and is uncoated.

A perfect example of a “wounded tree” that once stood between the opposing armies on Culp’s Hill.   [jet][ph:L]
