This is an excavated model 1842 musket tool. Two screw driver blades with a box-end wrench. Originally designed for the Mississippi rifle. Iron is rusty as is to be expected.
This was recovered in the “woods between Herr Ridge and Country Club Road” in the 1970s by Maryann Rosensteel (Rider), the granddaughter of Mrs. Iva Rosensteel. Iva was the sister of George Rosensteel, who started the Electric Map Museum in Gettysburg. Relic was listed in her original ledgers, being #106B in her Red Log Book. Sold to The Horse Soldier in 2025. [jet][ph:L]
