This is a pasteboard box wrapped with a printed paper label. The pack contains six .44 caliber revolver cartridges and a pack of seven pistol percussion caps. The printed label reads, “SIX CARTRIDGES / FOR / ARMY REVOLVER; / CAL. 44. / WITH 7 PERCUSSION CAPS. / WATERVLIET ARSENAL / 1864.”
Package is in near perfect condition with only a few minor scuffs. One end has been opened and resealed. Very nice condition and very displayable.
An old paper label accompanies the pack with pen and ink identification. The label reads, “Had these in my cartridge box when I came home, Aug. 1864 – G.E. Jepson.”

From January through April, 1863, he was detailed as a guard at Corps Headquarters. He was later detailed as a clerk at Corps Headquarters. He was Mustered Out on August 1, 1864 at Boston, MA. He was an active member of GAR Post # 81 (Isaac B. Patten) in Watertown, MA. He died in 1915 and is buried in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose, Massachusetts. [jet] [ph:L]
