By the Regimental Association. Published by the Franklin Printing Co., Philadelphia, 1902. Signed “George H. Bishop / November 27, 1927,” front endpapers. 287 pp., w/ills., in black buckram, 6.25” x 9.25., w/gilt cover and spine lettering. Exhibits light wear at the extremities, w, light cover and spine scoring. Else VG.

George H. Bishop was a 19 year old musician who mustered into Co. “B”, 11th PA Cavalry, 8/19/61. He was captured at Reams Station, VA, 6/29/1864, sent to Andersonville, released, 11/23/1864. He was discharged 2/18/1865.

The Eleventh PA Cavalry was organized as an independent regiment, 108th PA, August /October 1861, and was designated as Cavalry, in November. Thereafter it was attached to the Dept. of Virginia and then to the Seventh Corps. Engaged in constant scouting and reconnaissance throughout, it was engaged at Bermuda Hundred and the Siege of Petersburg, and during the Appomattox Campaign. Serving next in the sub-district of Albemarle, it was mustered out at Richmond in July 1865.
