This is a waist up view of Johnston in the uniform of a Confederate Brigadier General. Image is from life but has been heavily gone over by an artist as was common during the period. Image has good contrast but there is some light surface dirt on it and the mount. Photographers imprint on the reverse is “SELBY & DULANY….BALTIMORE.” Also on the back in pencil is collector ID “JOSEPH E. JOHNSTON.”
