Offered here is a pair of mid-19th century dental forceps used to extract teeth.
These dental “pliers” are 7” long overall with checkered handles. Marked “M. WOCHER”. Dark patina. Maximilian Wocher was a surgical instrument maker in Cincinnati, Ohio beginning in 1840. From 1856 to 1869, located at 105 W. 6th (in Ohio Medical College building) and listed as a surgical and dental instrument maker (1861), and as a surgical and dental instrument manufacturer (1863). By 1870 the company name changes to Max Wocher & Son. [jet] [PH:L]
