This double-twist brass bugle bears a maker’s medallion on the top side of the bell that reads “ ARMY & NAVY GOODS” surrounded by “HORSTMANN BROS & CO., PHILADA.”
The brass has a nice soft patina throughout. Bell has a rolled rim edge. The body has several small dents, mostly located in the elbows. Mouthpiece is present as is three links only of the chain attaching it to the instrument.
Tightly wrapped around the bugle is a blue infantry cord complete with tassels. The cord has faded some but in most areas the blue is still strong. [ad] [ph:L]
