Bell maker-mark: R.G. / Kretschmar /Phila. Measures 9.25” in length, double loop, 4” bell w/.875” reinforcing garland. Also woven, double braided golden strap w/ large tassles. Exhibits medium coppery patina, plus dings and dents customary w/age and usage. Else VG and attractive.
This scarce prototype bridges the gap between Civil War bugles and the 1892 model to come. A classy little horn, and playable. [jp][ph:L]
