This antique optical instrument from the mid-19th century is a very appealing, three-draw collapsible telescope/spyglass in very good condition. Made of brass, this device is constructed with three cylindrical shafts that collapse within each other. When fully extended, the telescope measures 35.5” long and collapses to 15” in length when closed. Sliding covers on front and back. Fully operational with good focus on items. No maker marks.
This is functional and in very fine condition, showing overall minor wear from use/storage. Exterior body retains its woven thread covering in good condition with only light scuffing. All sections, collars and trim of the telescope are made of brass and display a mellow patina. No case.
This large telescope is a fine specimen from the mid-19th century that would enhance any collection. [jet][ph:L]
