This collection of Vietnam battlefield pickup items consists of a first-aid kit, binoculars with carry case, and a communist canteen and carrier. The veteran, Jacob Ralph Hendricks, served with US Army Vietnam (USARV) from March 1967-March 1970. During his nearly 3 years in South-East Asia, Hendricks collected several pieces of captured Viet-Cong field gear. The first item is a pair of French-made Tower 8x25 binoculars along with a canvas carry case bearing a hand-painted National Liberation Front insignia. Alongside is a 1968 dated North Vietnamese supplied first-aid kit, complete with a 1968 dated dressing, a pair of gauze shears, and a pair of steel medical scissors. The final piece is a standard North Vietnamese style aluminum canteen with its canvas carrier. Included in the group is Hendricks’ military name tag and a summer-spring 1968 copy of TOUR 365. TOUR 365 was a USARV printed magazine available in military Post Exchanges for purchase by US servicemen. The magazine includes articles and photos from provided by soldiers serving across the country. All items included are in incredible condition with stamps and markings still present and preserved in vibrant detail. [gh][ph:L]
