Circular plate very similar to the Pattern 1826 eagle cartridge box breast plate but instead of the usual eagle this plate bears the State of Ohio coat of arms.
The face of the plate has a nice mellow patina with great detail to the coat of arms itself. The rays of the rising sun and the leaves of the oak wreath are very pronounced as are the hills in the background.
Reverse has 100% of the lead fill and both attachment loops. Lead surface has some minor scratches. [ad] [ph:L]
