High quality Civil War-era officer’s sword belt buckle. Cast brass eagle buckle with 1.25” wide, sheet brass hook applied on back. The buckle is still nicely curved and only shows minor wear to raised elements. Well finished and highly detailed. Silver wash highlights the wreath, stars, ribbon, eagle, and other raised features. Stippled background. Bench mark number “1” stamped on back.
Eagle plate only, no keeper. Very attractive. [jet][ph:L]
