Hat or cap oval insignia 2-3/4” wide consisting of false embroidered silvered numerals “28” set in a gilt brass wreath. Black velvet ground stretched and sewn with a backing over an internal stiffener with the pins of the wreath and numerals visible on the back. Some age toning to the metal and minor wear the reverse edge, but strong color to the velvet and very good condition overall. [sr][ph:L]
