A very good set of infantry captain’s single-border, embroidered bullion shoulder straps from around the turn of the century. These show no real signs of use, with pleasing color overall. The bullion of the borders and rank bars shows a slight tarnish with the “silver” captain’s bars now dark gray. The bullion strands are all in place with no “pulls”. The coiled wire edging around the borders inside and out is complete, also without any “pulls”. The medium-blue velvet center remains very good, with fine color.
The black backing remains completely sewn down around the edges with no separations. There is no visible damage to the backing material. They each measure 1.5” x 4”.
This is very nice set of straps for an infantry company commander, but likely never used on a uniform. [jet][ph:L]
