If you are one of many of the folks out there looking for a sling for your cartridge box, here it is.
Sling is in worn but supple condition. There is scattered surface finish loss throughout but, if done carefully, one should be able to get it back on a box.
Sling shows wear patterns where it once was attached to a box.
Pattern 1826 eagle breast plate is still attached with a replacement rawhide lace holding it in place. The face of the plate has a nice mellow patina with small wear spots on the eagle’s legs.
One end of the sling is faintly marked “C.S. STORMS MAKER N. YORK CITY.” [ad] [ph:L]
