Made of brown bridle leather and measuring 9” long x 3.5” wide. Semi-scalloped profile with belt loop. Stitched down both sides. “Pocket” is double stitched and rivetted. Cut-out for scabbard lug is closed and covered by a narrow belt with brass roller buckle.
Leather is slightly stiff, but all stitching is tight and unbroken. Surface finish exhibits some wear and crazing. Would have been used for a saber bayonet or possibly an NCO sword. Remains in very strong condition. [jet][ph:L]
