Here are two original Civil War musket slings that were repurposed and sewn together for use with post-Civil War trapdoor rifles. Smooth bridle leather in good condition. Measures approximately 64” long. Complete with brass hook on one end, loop sewn on opposite end, and one floating loop. Leather exhibits minor surface crazing and the sewn down loop is broken. Each of the two sling portions is marked “C.S. STORMS / MAKER / NEW YORK CITY”. One of the stampings is much more readable than the other. Leather is supple and will be the perfect for any trapdoor rifle. [jet][ph:L]
