Made of brown bridle leather and measuring 8.5” long x 3.5” wide.  Scalloped profile with belt loop.  Stitched down both sides. “Pocket” is double stitched. Cut-out for scabbard lug is closed and covered by a narrow belt with brass buckle.

Leather is flexible and all stitching is tight and unbroken. Likely unissued. Surface finish is smooth with no noticeable wear or crazing.  An apparent maker’s or inspector’s stamp is worn and partially visible on the back.

Would have been used for a saber bayonet or possibly an NCO sword.  Remains in very strong condition.   [jet] [ph:L]
