Black leather belt meas. approx. 1.75 inches wide with a line of stitching outlining each edge. The leather surface shows light to moderate surface finish loss from rubbing and use over the years. The leather is still strong and supple.
The cast plate is rectangular with the Georgia state seal on a raised medallion at center of a raised laurel wreath. The details of the seal and wreath are excellent. Plate has a wide tongue on the reverse which mates to a simple brass bar sewn to one end of the belt.
The size of the belt can be adjusted by a brass friction keeper located behind the plate. This keeper also has a rectangular ring for attaching a leather drop if desired or a brass hook to support a sword. [ad] [ph:L]
