This is a Civil War-era belt in good condition. Belt is constructed of bridle leather that measures approximately 39” long overall x 1.75” wide. Leather is smooth and supple with a light “crinkled” appearance. One sliding belt loop remains on belt. Keeper is riveted and stitched in place with initials cut into leather on back side.
Pattern 1851 buckle features high relief details on front and 0.5” wide tongue on back. No bench mark numbers on buckle or keeper. This style features the three-piece silver wreath on the face. Brass has mellow patina with a couple of darker spots.
Belt and buckle only; no sword hangers or shoulder strap.
Overall, a very good NCO belt that would look good on a uniform display. [jet][ph:L]
