This is a policeman’s belt in very good condition. Belt is constructed of folded leather that is stitched. Nice tooled edge and design on belt. Belt leather measures approximately 42” long overall x 1.75” wide, with an extra 4” remaining to expand. A brass wire loop is sewn to one end of the belt while the “wreath” portion of the buckle is sewn to the opposite end. Leather is smooth and supple with light wear and just a few very small cracks. No sliding belt loops on belt.
The brass buckle is a “tongue and wreath” style, two-piece belt buckle. The wreath portion floats on the adjustable end. “POLICE” is cast on the disc or “tongue” portion of the buckle which is sewn directly to the belt.
A fine, early Police accoutrement. [jet][ph:L]
