Buff leather belt is in excellent, original condition; dyed brown on exterior surface, left natural on interior. Leather measures 2” wide by nearly 46” long overall. Belt was “lengthened” by stitching two pieces together; done during the period with three parallel rows of stitching. An original brass “keeper” is attached to the end.
The plate is the Model 1839 oval US with “arrow” hooks, tongue, and 100% of the lead fill on the back. The face has a nice mellow patina. Plate is in nice condition. [jet][ph:L]
