Box is for carrying the .69 elongated ball cartridge.

Outer flap is in excellent condition. The surface is smooth with minor scattered crazing from use. The slightly worn latch tab is solid and held to the flap by a single line of stitching. The box has an oval “SNY” plate. The letters are crisply stamped and the face has a pleasing light patina. The plate is free of any major dings, dents or scratches but does have several small rub marks on the face. Plate is still held to the box by a leather thong.

Inner flap has both ears and the leather surface is very smooth. Both tins are present with the dividers. Implement pocket is complete and in good condition with an-inch-long separation along one side of the top edge of the pocket. This is not visible unless one opens the implement pocket to look inside.

Bottom of the box has both roller buckles and the round brass finial. The bottom leather panel of the box shows a more crazing than the rest of it. Both side panels of the box are stamped with the maker’s mark of “C.S. STORMS, MAKER N.Y.” Of the two marks only one is readable.

Reverse has both the sling and belt loops with the belt loops being riveted and sewn.  [ad] [ph:L]
