This Navy fuse box is in used but good condition. The outer flap has crazing throughout. The latch tab is sewn to the underside of the flap and is in good condition with only minor surface crackling. Lightly stamped upside down on the outer flap is “NAVY YARD / N.Y. / 1861” flanked by two anchors all in an oval.
The body of the box has some scattered surface wear but is otherwise good. The bottom of the box has a brass stud finial while the reverse has a single wide belt loop. The leather of the loop matches the rest of the box in condition.
All seams on the box are tight. [AD] [ph:L]
