Original pistol cartridge box with clean leather and tight seams to hold Army size (.44 cal.) cartridge packs. Likely unissued.
Outer flap remains supple and in fine condition. Stamped, “US” on left, “J. DAVY & CO. / NEWARK, NJ” in the center and a partial inspector’s stamp on the right. Latch tab is complete and held in place with stitching and a rivet.
The interior of the box is very good. The back has both belt loops which are stitched and riveted. Brass finial is present on bottom. Very good condition. [jet] [ph:L]
