This is an original Civil War percussion cap pouch. The leather is clean and likely unissued. This pattern has the integral closing tab as an extension of the outer flap.

The latch tab is unbroken. The interior flap has “CROSSMAN / MAKER / NEWARK, N.J.” clearly stamped. Both inner “ears” remain firmly sewn in place. There is no fleece or nipple pick inside.

Bottom has brass finial. Both narrow belt loops remain in place on back and are stitched and riveted. All stitching is strong and intact.
