Original pistol cartridge box with clean leather and tight seams to hold Army size (.44 cal.) cartridge packs. “Pocket” measures approximately 5.25” x 3.5” x 1.25”.
Outer flap remains supple with overall brown tone. Light crazing across “hinge” area at top. Latch tab is complete and unbroken; held in place with stitching and a rivet. Below rivet is stamped “J. DAVY & CO. / NEWARK, N.J”. Additionally, a light T.J Shepard inspector’s stamp is found at the center of the flap.
The interior of the box is very good and clean. The back has both belt loops which are stitched and riveted. Brass finial is present on bottom. Nice condition. [jet][ph:L]
